About
hmmm, about me… I’m a Canadian girl living in Boston, I’m a somewhat distracted graduate student, and I spend far more time baking than is really reasonable.
More to the point, about this blog: my food is mostly homestyle baking. Not much fancy-schmancy pastry, but rather comfort foods with lots of butter, and prep time ranging from super easy to somewhat involved (layer cakes!). As for non-desserts: I like vegetables. Not as many of these recipes make an appearance, though. It’s hard for them to compete with butter and sugar.
As for one cake two cake: I plan to make a red cake and a blue cake.

LIFE IS SHORT. LET’S EAT.
Love your photos!! I made a similar Chocolate Cookie, with red velvet cake mix (ok, not gluten-free), but the sugar cracked nicely like yours– definitely one of my favorite types of cookie. I’m excited to try yours! I’m also in the Boston area. Do you have any favorite bakeries?
Thanks Wendy! I actually haven’t been to many bakeries in Boston… I tend to bake too much to have room to eat other desserts. I am on the lookout for a good one though, so I’ll mention it if I find one!
I have found your secret blog, Laura 😉 It’s lovely!

love your blog
You sound so lovely, I would like to meet you… I’m sure you have heard of Audrey Taylor, she is my auntie. I know you have heard of her because you posted on her blog once. Can’t wait to hear back from you.
Truly no matter if someone doesn’t be aware of after that its up to
other users that they will help, so here it happens.
Just found your blog and sad to see you stopped posting in 2013! Hope you’ve moved on from graduate school and are happily baking and moving on with your career.
